Non-profits must fulfill all of the following requirements to be considered for membership:
Organizations eligible for membership will be:
* Based in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
* Involved in some form of social change work
* Self-controlled; that is, not controlled by any other organization
* Incorporated for at least two years
* A federal 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization
* Receiving no funding from any Massachusetts workplace payroll deduction campaign
* Working in one or more of the following areas:
Health Environment/Energy
Women Low-Income Organizing
Labor Empowerment of People of Color
Disability Food and Shelter
Education Civil Rights
Housing Lesbian and Gay Rights
Youth Government Reform
Aging Peace
Counseling Communication and the Arts
- Qualified organizations will file regular tax returns and hold a current Certificate of Solicitation from the Commonwealth
- No organization having policies that discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual preference, age or disability is eligible for membership.
